New roof, insulation, ceiling, paint and lighting: from 2019 to 2022, the dining hall was fully restored thanks to generous donors and volunteers.
Spring 2019: a new roof
During the Easter holidays, the 120 m² fibre-cement roof was removed and replaced with 150 m² of steel panels, with new gutters and ridge tiles. Pupils can finally eat their meals in the dry.
Summer 2019: insulation and refurbishment
With a small team of high school pupils, the roof insulation was doubled, the ceiling redone, the interior walls and the façade repainted, and new lighting installed.
October 2022: the reopening
After months of work carried out by volunteers and funded by generous donors, the dining hall officially reopened on 21 October 2022, with pupils, parents, staff and partners from Germany and Australia.
