Partnership with Blackhawk Christian School
The last time we were able to do an English-speaking exchange was at Lancaster Mennonite School, Pennsylvania, with the 2018-2019 class: we had 10 high school students.
Now we are embarking on a partnership with Blackhawk Christian School, Fort Wayne, Indiana, with 9 high school students; it is October 2025.

Lisa Davidson, the French teacher at this school, is a person full of life and ideas, who enjoys connecting people and having her home filled with people from all over the world.

Supported by Mr Steve Newbry, one of the directors of BCS, she has put together an intense, interesting and varied programme to enable students to enjoy themselves together at school and outside school, while enriching themselves with the words and expressions of our countries’ cultures. The programme includes a variety of activities, such as sports, crafts, music, dance, theatre, cooking, and much more.

Learning to make pancakes together, discovering the recipe, but also the measurements that differ from country to country, sharing differences and similarities between countries in geography class, introducing oneself and one’s country and customs in French class for elementary school students—these are some ways to break the ice and motivate young people to hang out together.

A play called ‘Peter Pan and Wendy’ reminds us of the things that truly matter, the beauty of growing up, the importance of walking in the light; sports matches between various schools in the region are just some of the activities that differ from France and in which our young Americans are fully invested.

And what unites us is our vision: academic excellence, a biblical foundation, and Christ at the centre of education, preparing hearts and minds for Christ. What a pleasure it is to experience this exchange! We hope that this is only the beginning.

Coming up next: we are looking forward to welcoming a delegation from Blackhawk Christian School from 30 May to 6 June. We look forward to sharing more with you soon!
