On 31 March, the high school pupils went to see the story of Nelson Mandela, a man who was imprisoned for 27 years before ending his life as president.

The performance by the English Theatre troupe at the Kinépolis movie theater was of the highest quality, and the message was poignant: never give up defending a just cause. Whatever your level of English, everyone in the audience understood it.

Our journey then took us to the Espace Muséographique Victor Schoelcher in Fessenheim, where we were able to imagine the life of a man who wanted to be a spokesman for the people of our region to the authorities, in favour of racial equality, and a determined advocate of the abolition of slavery. The visit was interactive and practical.

No one has been indifferent to our history of slavery. Like Christ, may we all be involved in the fight against the domination of man over man!
